  • I'm confused. Spider-Verse Vol 1 1 states that Mangaverse Spider-Man is from Earth-2301, but the new databook says that he's from Earth-7122?

    • Mangaverse Spider-Man have two conflicting stories. The Mangaverse Spider-Man that appeared in Mangaverse Spider-Man (Earth-7122) was recruted by Spider-Gwen and Spider-Man-616 but in Spider-Verse, he (2301) was recruited by other Spider-themed characters. So I think handbook guys did this on purpose, to explain the condradiction.

Bah. It's still confusing. What happened to the one from Earth-2301, then, or is he not mentioned at all?

    • He is not mentioned at all. But at least we know he was in Spider-Verse too because in Spider-Verse #1, his universe's name was 2301, the original mangaverse.

Hmm... The databook wouldn't happen to clear up any confusion regarding Slott's "I get to retcon the universe designations not mentioned in-comic because the databooks aren't canon" statement, would it? IIRC, it was addressed by one of the editors on Twitter that the databooks are canon where not contradicted by the comics, but I thought I'd ask.

    • Yeah, assuming the comics don't contradict each other, then the databooks have to be canon. Great job, Dan.

Well... Nick Lowe did kinda back up a couple of the retcons in the Letters to the Editor segment.
