We're trying to decide between the Thunderbird and the Proudstar. We'd like to honor John's sacrifice.
The Thunderbird was the Krakoan X-Men's aircraft.[1]
History
After chartering Krakoa's first official team of X-Men, they began creating their headquarters and transportation. Their new aircraft was named the Thunderbird to honor the sacrifice of John Proudstar.[1]
During their second mission, the X-Men flew the Thunderbird to Kansas to defeat the Annihilation Wave. While the X-Men fought on the ground, the Thunderbird patrolled above.[2]
On the night of the Mutant Massacre at the Hellfire Gala, an Grant Rogers broke into the Treehouse to steal the Krakoan battle suit and the Thunderbird.[3][4] Afterwards, the Mutant Liberation Front began using the Thunderbird as the primary mode of transit.[5]
After the Avengers Unity Squad defeated Grant Rogers and his Mutant Liberation Front,[6] the Thunderbird was seemingly returned to the X-Men.[7]Capabilities
