Synopsis for 1st story
Yesterday.
At Lou's Diner, Danny Rand tells Luke Cage that to defeat a dragon, one must punch them in the heart. Luke is in disbelief and calls Danny "Gandalf", the name going over his head due to not being literate in pop culture. Despite their differences in knowledge and power, the two agree that they should use that for good, becoming heroes for life.
Tomorrow.
A strange pyramid hovers over Earth. At some time in the future, a caravan of people make their way to a futuristic city in the desert. A mysterious woman creates an apple and gives it to a child, who gives it to their father, so that it would help him not cough anymore. The woman claims that the moon loves all its children and that tonight, from the lunar temple, it will share its love forever. However, an old man warns the family to stay away, that all that'll be there is death. The old man is Luke Cage, preparing to tear down the entire city. He can feel reality weakened here and is taunted by The Void, telling him he's already failed. He tries to calm down, but he's soon assaulted by visions of the past:
A new Moon Knight. A new Nova. A cyborg-like Ultron leading an army of zombie-like villains. Dario Agger with an The Immortal Thor comic, the Green Goblin in silhouette, the Fantastic Four digging up a grave, Blade fighting the Hulk.
Cage regains his composure, noting that the Age of Heroes is long gone and that Khonshu has won. He's just here to get some payback. Dumping his cloak, he unleashes his power - the Sentry, the Hulk and the Iron Fist - to smash the tower to pieces as he is the Power Man. He knows it's not enough and that the world's going to be culled, but he wants to confront its reaper, who makes himself known - the Immortal Moon Knight. The Moon Knight blasts Cage, destroying his arm temporarily, but Cage fights back, yelling that while the world grieved during the "White Sky Event", he rescued Stark Unlimited and mastered "the Eye" before he turned against everyone for Khonshu. One punch shatters Moon Knight's mask and the figure stands revealed - Danny Rand - who calls Cage the monster. However, another strikes both Cage and Rand, showing more visions of the past:
Tombstone standing tall in Manhattan. Doctor Doom, the new Sorcerer Supreme. A mysterious figure known as "Prisoner X" looked within the Danger Room. Miles Morales in a sea of red and black. The Avengers and Blade, fighting an army of vampires. Venom fighting Kid Venom. Johnny Blaze losing the Spirit of Vengeance.
Cage roars out "HELL NO!" in defiance, but Danny thinks what happened was a trick of his. Cage, tired of his talk, blasts him off planet. However, Danny conjures up a sickle and slices off Cage's right arm. He taunts Cage about trying to stand up against the Moon, but Cage replies that he's a Hulk and Hulks smash, slamming Danny into the Moon. He apologizes for having done that, but Danny rises, another voice declaring that he was already dead. As he fights, Cage is flooded with more visions:
Frank Castle in the War Machine armor battling Joe Garrison. Spider-Boy alongside an entire team of teenaged heroes. Franklin Richards repowered. Two Wakandan gods. Scarlet Witch battling the Griever. Black Panther facing Penance.
Cage is able to pummel Danny until he suddenly returns to normal. However, it's a trick as Khonshu pulls himself out of Danny's body. At long last, Khonshu begins the culling of the world and the rest of the universe, becoming a Celestial. However, Cage is not out of the fight. Wrapping his chains around his remaining hand, he charges towards Khonshu, flanked by images of his wife and his fellow New Avengers. With this power, he smashes through Khonshu, destroying him. As the world starts to heal, Cage lets himself be pulled into the timestream, being greeted with new visions:
Stephen Strange and Clea welcoming a new child. The return of Terror. The Revolution fighting American Kaiju. A crippled Magneto with a new group. An Iron Man armor being examined.
As Cage realizes he's being sent to the present with that world being saved, he doesn't know if he was sent there or summoned, he knows one thing...
Today.
In space, a mysterious streak of light races through space. Elsewhere, Sam Wilson enters a room where Tony Stark is monitoring space activity. Sam worries that he's going to miss breakfast, but Tony reassures him that it was just a false alarm and he's free to go.
Over Jupiter, Cage begins to reform - that was the end of one story and the beginning of a new one.
