History

A government assassin turned information broker, Tito Mendez created a think tank group known as "The Authority", a name he eventually co-opted as his own. In time, he tricked Spider-Man into acquiring for him the so-called "Globe of Ultimate Knowledge" which accessed the accumulated knowledge of The Watchers, but was left insensate by it.
