Toni Harris was a student who got an internship to the Daily Bugle. J. Jonah Jameson remarked that "I am not paying these kids to surf the Internet!" when he saw her looking at a webpage annoucing a music video by Zane Whelan. Peter Parker said since she and Sam Exmore are interns, the Bugle is allowing them to work for free; and convinced Jameson to approve Harris and Exmore to do a story on the forthcoming music video. Toni was not a drug user, and cautioned Sam about the dangers of marijuana. She also noticed the props used on the set of the music video, such as a harness used to break Zane's fall when he jumped off a ledge while supposedly high.
