History

Designed by Tony Stark, his sunglasses operated as a voice-activated portable supercomputer with augmented reality interface and internal speakers.[1][2][3] Accessed via retinal and biometric scans, the sunglasses have been connected to both Friday and E.D.I.T.H. granting the user access to Stark Industries global security network, defense satellites, backdoors to all major telecommunication networks, and all of Iron Man's protocols.[1][4][2][3]

After his death,[5] Tony left the sunglasses with the E.D.I.T.H. interface in the possession of Nick Fury with instructions to give them to Peter Parker. Feeling overwhelmed with the responsibility of being the "new Iron Man" and believing him to be a hero, Peter gave the glasses to Mysterio. Using access to E.D.I.T.H., Mysterio and his team planned to stage a defeat of the Elementals by Mysterio while destroying a large portion of London. After learning of Mysterio's true motives, Spider-Man was able to defeat him and retrieve the sunglasses.[3]
