History

Treasure World was the hideout of the Shi'ar royal Deathbird that was positioned in a bubble dimension located in between the universe and the Negative Zone that was very difficult to enter. It was made up of a series of anti-gravity islands dotted with near-extinct tropical plants, lagoons, and a large complex.

After Deathbird was stopped from usurping from the Shi'ar throne, the Imperial Guard planned to enter Treasure World and investigate what Deathbird had there. They located Treasure World's dimension using coordinates provided by the pirate Corsair. The Earthling Hyperion was able to create an opening to Treasure World's dimension using his Atomic Vision. The Imperial Guard learned too late that Deathbird had used Treasure World as a place to secretly experiment on the nearly extinct Brood parasite that were running loose. By then, many of the Imperial Guard members had been infected and under the Brood's control. The only way to stop the Brood from leaving was for Hyperion to seal the opening he made in Treasure World's dimension with his Atomic Vision. He was successful, but he was forced to leave his teammates behind.[1]

The infected Imperial Guard and the Brood would eventually find a means of escaping Treasure World and apparently infect the entire Shi'ar Empire, turning its throneworld Chandilar into the new throneworld of the Brood Imperium.[2]
