Tsathoggua the Toad-God was a toad-demon,[3] and one of the Great[6] Old Ones, extradimensional beings predating Earth.[1]

History

Origins and early years[]

Tsathoggua the Toad-God was a toad-demon,[3] and one of the Great[6] Old Ones, extradimensional beings predating Earth.[1]

He lived for some years on Saturn among the powerful aliens that dwelt on the surface of the giant gas planet prior the rise of man, before leaving for Earth.[6]

Elder Days[]

Tsathoggua lived in the temple on the Nameless Isle, was an ally of the Elder God Set, and was worshiped by Serpent-Men.[7] When the Serpent-Men realized that the Cobra Crown was defective, they hid it under a shrine to Tsathoggua on the Nameless Isle, guarded by a living stone idol of Tsathoggua,[3]

Hyborian Age[]

Tsathoggua's name was one of many invoked by Dharmi Shan.[8]

At some point, Varnae, Lord of Vampires, of Atlantis, became known as Tsathoggua to the Tcho-Tcho,[9] who seemingly worshiped him.

Modern Age[]

Its Latin name, Sadoquae, was invoked in the sentence "Tibi, Magnum Innominandum, signa stellarum nigrarum et bufoniformis Sadoquae sigillum", taken from the De Vermis Mysteriis ("The Mysteries of the Worm"), in order to summon the Shambler from the Stars.[4]
