Tyreeze Tarolt founded the Guardians of the Galaxy along with Stella Nega, who shared his vision to make the galaxy a safer place. However, their visions came into conflict when Tyreeze's sociopathic tendencies surfaced. He and Stella had a falling out, so she reformed the Guardians with new members while Tyreeze went on to think bigger. Eventually he constructed an esodimensional Structure existing outside space and time, inside which Tyreeze spent untold number of years implementing his plan to make the galaxy a safer place.[1]
He developed a process of gene-cruitment, by which captive subjects were converted into Highbreeds, self-regenerating warriors under his complete control.[1] Tyreeze, now calling himself Hermetikus, used the Highbreeds to launch attacks in various time periods, assimilating entire cultures and civilizations into his host. He also selected certain brilliant individuals to augment his own intelligence, removing their brains and placing them into special chambers in his suit, where they acted as a hivemind.[2]
Just as Hermetikus was finally ready to launch his invasion fleet of 80 billion Highbreeds across time and space, bringing peace to the galaxy through subjugation, he was defeated by the combined efforts of three teams of Guardians of the Galaxy led by Stella Nega, Rocket Raccoon, and Major Victory. The Guardians reversed the process of gene-cruitment, turning the Highbreeds back into their original forms and sending everyone back to their own times, while Tyreeze's brain was extracted and kept separate from his body.[3]
