Synopsis for "Ghosts: Part 1"
Reed has barricaded himself in the Baxter Building to work on creating a cosmic cube. He refuses to stop and talk with Ben, Johnny, or even his girlfriend, Sue. In fact, he booby traps his area so that when Ben tries to break the door down, he falls out of the building onto the crowded ground below.
Franklin Storm explains that Reed's behavior is unnerving. However, Ross feels that his focus on creating something like the Cube is acceptable. Franklin Storm gets and invitation from his old friend Ivan Kragoff. He wants Reed and Sue to attend his scientific symposium. Franklin also consoles Ivan on the recent loss of his wife.
In the Russian wild, an older man has returned to his cabin from hunting. He is ordered to return to duty with his suit. A crimson armor lies inside his home.
Reed refuses to leave, but encourages Sue to do so. He wants her to leave her alone. Sue agrees. Johnny is clearly upset with Reed's behavior. Sue is escorted by pilot Paul Lytton. Over Siberia, the plane is shot down by Kragoff's assistant Sorba. She and her troops shoot Paul, capture Sue, and prepare to give her a shot with a hypodermic needle.
Reed has completed his cosmic cube. Exhausted, a mysterious voice calls him "a child" and thanks him. Doctor Storm informs everyone about Sue's crash. Reed comes out of his seclusion and they board the "Seven Ten Split" to find Sue.
