Quote1 Now, I like to think he isn't a bad guy. But in a lot of ways, him being a good guy would be more upsetting to certain people. It implies that something is wrong with the world, and maybe he's what we're looking for. A cure for what ails us. Quote2

Synopsis for 1st story

Peter and MJ dine at a fancy dinner restaurant with Harry Osborn and his wife, Gwen Stacy. Harry and Gwen have been married for eight years, however they do not have any kids, fearing the world they would be brought into. MJ tells Harry and Gwen how she began her PR Firm. Initially, she was a model who began doing her own branding. People liked what she was doing, which led to her being hired by Bayham-Laroche and subsequently poached by Smith and Altmann's executive suite. Later, she quit her job and started her own marketing firm. Recently, she began helping Uncle Ben and J. Jonah Jameson with their news startup.

Meanwhile, Ben and Jonah are look after May and Richard at the Parker's house while Peter and MJ are out, and debate the name MJ suggested to them for their news company: "The Paper." Ben likes the name, but Jonah is annoyed by it. May asks Uncle Ben when Jonah is going to leave. Gwen asks Peter about the pictures he takes of the masked man swinging through the sky. She believes the news coverage of Spider-Man has been sanitized, because there's a reason he exists, and if that reason is for good, it implies that something is wrong with the world and he is the cure. Gwen suggests that Peter should share his photos with Uncle Ben.

Ben puts May and Richard to sleep. Richard says that he thinks what Ben and Jonah are doing is really cool, and bonds with Ben over their shared love of reading. He also notices that May is not very fond of Jonah. After dinner, Gwen tells MJ that Oscorp has too much money after acquiring Stane/Stark Industries, and asks MJ to connect her with Ben and Jonah, remarking that she'd like to see if she can launch a pirate ship.

Harry realizes that Peter has not told MJ that he is Spider-Man, and Peter finds out that Harry has already told Gwen everything. Peter tells Harry that he is keeping his identity secret to protect the people close to him, to which Harry responds that it's impossible to insulate the people you love from consequences. Harry says that if he's brave enough to try being a hero, Peter should be as well because he has abilities beyond just a suit. Peter is finally doing something he's good at and believes is right; he feels that Harry's goals are too big for him. Harry believes it's on them to save the world, and that the people in charge have been playing god for their entire lives. He tells Peter that he has great power and with that, comes great responsibility.

Afterwards, Peter and MJ agree that Harry and Gwen felt a bit scary. MJ asks why she needs heroes, when she already has Peter.
