History

Ulysses Klaue is a black market arms dealer, smuggler and gangster operating in South Africa. He is in search of Vibranium and claims that he is the only one who has known the real Wakanda and lived to tell the tale. Klaue was also an old acquaintance of Tony Stark.

Age of Ultron

In South Africa, Ultron tracked down Klaue when he came in search of Vibranium. After transferring billions of dollars to Klaue's account, Klaue took note of Ultron quoting Stark and realized he was a creation of Stark. Ultron took offense and attacked him. When the Avengers arrived on scene, Klaue ordered his men to open fire on both sides as he made his escape.

Cuttlefish

Terrified of the cuttlefish near his boat, Klaue asked an ally to eliminate the animals, and after the job was done, Klaue agreed to talk business with him.

Later, Klaw killed T'Chaka, the ruler of Wakanda, to steal the country's supply of vibranium and ended up losing one of his hands. T'Chaka's son, T'Challa became Wakanda's new ruler and sought vengeance against Klaw.

Invasion in Wakanda

Ulysses would partner with Augustine du Lac for the two and their terrorist army for hire to invade Wakanda. With his army attacking various parts of Wakanda, Klaw was in the council chamber, where he would fight T'Challa and Shuri and have his mechanical arm ripped off, which makes him flee with his army.

Kang's Invasion

Klaw joined forces with Man-Ape in order to swipe a supply of vibranium and faced T'Challa and the Avengers. Klaw was successful in stealing the vibranium, which was used to create robot soldiers for Hydra. Klaw would consequently be caught by T'Challa and arrested.

Trouble in Wakanda

Forming a partnership with Killmonger, Klaue and the former would meet Thanos in New York after the Titan was defeated by the Avengers. The two formed a partnership with Thanos for the Titan to help them take Wakanda and in return he would receive vibranium to have more power. While Killmonger distracts T'Challa in New York, Klaue and Thanos invade Wakanda and wanting the access key to the Vibranium mines, Klaue kidnapped Shuri, in which he warned T'Challa of the villain's invasion. Being tricked by the girl, Klaue came across T'Challa and Okoye and forced them to give them the key otherwise he would shoot Shuri. Thanks to Killmonger's arrival, the villains managed to get T'Challa's key after a short confrontation and take over the mines. Even with the mines taken, T'Challa didn't give up and went to Klaue and Killmonger to face them head-on with Okoye, which works and both are defeated until Thanos comes out of the mines with maximum power, giving them both an opportunity to escape there. Inside the mines, Killmonger and Klaue faced Tony Stark and T'Challa, who were there trying to shut down Thanos' power source. The confrontation would result in the energy machine that gave Thanos power through Vibranium being overloaded and a portal being opened, taking Klaue and Killmonger to the North Pole.

• Matt Lanter is the voice of Ulysses in LEGO Marvel's Avengers. Trevor Devall is the voice in LEGO Marvel Super Heroes – Black Panther: Trouble in Wakanda and LEGO Marvel Avengers: Mission Demolition.
• Ulysses Klaue appears as one of the villains overloaded by Loki in LEGO Marvel Super Heroes: Maximum Overload. However, chronologically the animation should take place before the Age of Ultron, well before he lost his arm and became the Klaw.
