Synopsis for "More Than Human"

The narrator of the story senses something different about certain people and when he sees them recover limbs after what should be fatal accidents he learns they are atomic age mutants. He attempts to tell an old school chum but he is one of them and he shoots off the narrator's arm with an atomic ray gun. At the end of the story the narrator re-grows the arm and he realizes he's a mutant so he threatens to hunt down the reader who knows too much.

Synopsis for "The Empty World"

A man planning a trip to Mars begins to see strange creatures no one else does so he convinces himself they are hallucinations brought on by hard work. When he arrives on Mars he's asked if he sees any signs of life as the strange creatures approach him. He's convinced himself they are only figments of his imagination so he says 'no' but then the Martians disintegrate him.
