The United Arab Emirates was a country located at the southeast end of the Arabian Peninsula on the Persian Gulf, bordering Oman to the east and Saudi Arabia to the south, as well as sharing sea borders with Qatar and Iran. Abu Dhabi, the island capital, was home to Sheikh Zayed Grand Mosque. Dubai was the largest and most populous city with ultramodern Burj Khalifa tower, enormous shopping centers and extravagant attractions.
History
Deadpool tried to rob the Burj Khalifa but was forced to deal with a gang of corporate thieves who tried to kill him but he kept bouncing back even after being knocked out the window. He killed them all blowing up the office in the process. [1]
The First International Credit Union of Dubai was destroyed by Greithoth.[2] He was defeated by Hank Pym and the Avengers Academy but not before destroying half the city.[3]
Zeke Stane attacked Al Taqua Desalinization Plants 1 & 2 in Abu Dhabi, UAE.[4]
Loki and Leah battled Nightmare across the globe using mystical portals at one point the arrived in Dubai.[5]
Mr. Lucas was a dubious businessman and during a business meeting in Dubai, he was followed by Black Widow, who dispatched his bodyguards and confronted him. Black Widow forced him to stand by the window wearing a bulletproof vest, and used him as a bait, as she was actually hired to kill Lucas' assassin. When the sniper shot Vardir, Black Widow pinned his location and killed him with a bazooka from the distance.[6]
When Black Widow tried to find Chaos, unrevealed entity from the future gave him knowledge of upcoming events so Chaos can ensure their future came to happen.[7] He had her plan was thwarted by invisible Chaos agents, the Prophet abducted Natasha and took her to Dubai.[8] There, the Prophet tried to convince Natasha that Chaos only wanted to ensure a bright future for humankind, using Dubai as an example, which Chaos allegedly helped grow. She doubted of the Prophet's true intentions, and declined his offer to join them. He then teleported them to Moscow.[9]
Deadpool sent his team the Mercs for Money on missions around the globe. Stingray was sent to Dubai.[10]
A group of wealthy mutants had gathered in a sealed off building to protect themselves from the effects of the terrigen clouds while the poor mutants of Dubai were doomed to die from its effects. Magneto's team of X-Men intervened, however, and brought with them every other mutant they could locate in the city to be protected in the same room. What none of them expected was that the human servants present were prime sentinels in disguise, intent on seeing the terrigen cloud kill all present mutants. One of them succeeded in breaking a window and the mutants had to escape with the help of the X-Men. Just in time, Storm showed up with her team of X-Men to assist Magneto's team in rescuing the mutants and fending off the cloud.[11]
When the villanous Apoth took control of Dubai, Psylocke took a team of young mutants with her to stop him. While her team continued the fight on the streets, Psylocke confronted and finally defeated Apoth on top of the Burj Khalifa.[12]Points of Interest
