History
Glenn Talbot escaped from a maximum security camp in the eastern foothills of the Ural Mountains.[1]
Somewhere on the eastern edge of the Ural mountains near Chelyabinsk, Iron Man noticed an ongoing battle between the Winter Guard and Mandarin's armed forces.[2] The Avengers arrived to aid the Winter Guard. Spotting the Dragon of Heaven as it begins an aerial assault, the two teams of heroes headed into the sky to face its threat. As the Avengers and Winter Guard continued to battle the Mandarin's forces and attempt to enter the Dragon of Heaven, Vostok tried to use his powers to control the vessel, only to be taken over by the dragon instead. Iron Man managed to escape the bonds of the Mandarin reached the power core of the Dragon; the Mandarin tried to divert him with his Final Guardians but Iron Man ignored him and destroyed the core; the Dragon of Heaven was destroyed and the Mandarin was seemingly consumed in the destruction. Iron Man survived this destruction, but was finally overcome by all of his recent injuries and collapsed in front of the Avengers.[3]
X-Force assisted Valentina Rychenko and her father Dr. Constantin Rancal in a Russian Sleeper deprogramming operation that would execute latent mutant sleepers of the Cold War while rescuing and removing mutant genomes of their children. Dr. Roman, with the usage of Russian Warborgs, super-enhanced robotic soldiers overhauled from deceased bodies, set to abduct and extract the sleepers children mutant DNA to synthesize living mutant soldiers to battle a subverted, ancient alien threat set to destroy the human race. He had his lab set up in Ural Mountains. Despite X-Force's efforts to detain Dr. Roman, a Life Model Decoy of Valentina Rychenko revealed a bomb and destroyed much of the compound.[4]
In a secret lab in the Ural Mountains, Natasha Romanoff confronted scientist Lyudmila Antonovna Kudrin about the procedures that had been performed on her and the other girls in the Black Widow programme.[5]
The Warriors of Krieger Sect were one among the many sects that attended the once in a century vampire gathering. When Xarus, son of Dracula, assassinated his father, the Warriors of the Krieger Sect turned against Xarus and returned to their fortress in the Ural Mountains, where they were attacked by the Nosferatu Sect and Charniputra Sect. They were massacred by both forces along with their leader Legate.[6]
Red Widow had a lair in Ural Mountains where she kept Hyperion prisoner. Though the Squadron Supreme was sent to arrest her, Power Princess and Blur betrayed Doctor Spectrum and sided with Red Widow instead.[7]
