I am incredibly sad about the news of the impending finale of Peter David's X-Factor. I respect PAD's decision and desire to move on with his work, and his feelings that X-Factor has come to it's natural conclusion. However, X-Factor has been my only mainstay comic over the past 4 years (I came into the series around issue #39), and it's presence will be sorely missed.
PAD was mentioned that the "End of X-Factor" storyline will feature smaller stories about an individual character (or pair). So far:
- Part 1 (#257): Layla & Madrox
- Part 2 (#258): Wolfsbane
- Part 3 (#259): Shatterstar & Longshot or Rictor (maybe all three???)
- Part 4 (#260): Polaris & Quicksilver
- Part 5 (#261): ??? (likely Monet: maybe Monet & Strong Guy, or Monet & Darwin, or …

Okay, so I recently moved and have not found a new local comic book shop I like yet, and I haven't been super impressed with the AvX story, so I haven't been following it as diligently as I could.
Now I've been reading about all the cancelled titles and the Marvel Now relaunches but I can't find a good comprehensive list.
Can anyone tell me what I'm missing as far as post-AvX X-Men titles go?
- Wolverine and the X-Men (continued)
- X-Factor (continued)
- X-Men Legacy (relaunch)
- All New X-Men (launch)
- Uncanny Avengers (launch)
- A+X (launch)
- Uncanny X-Force (UPDATE: relaunch)
- Uncanny X-Men (cancelled)
- New Mutants (cancelled)
- Generation Hope (already cancelled)
- Avengers Academy (cancelled)
- X-Treme (UPDATE: continued?)
- Astonishing X-Men (UPDATE: continued?)
- X-Men (UPDA…
As most of you know the Phoenix Force will be returning to the Marvel Universe in early 2012. This will lead into the Avengers vs. X-Men event.
I think it's a very safe bet to assume the Phoenix will be seeking out Hope Summers since she's been manifesting the Phoenix Raptor almost since birth.
However, there are SEVERAL omega-level/extremely powerful mutants with whom the Phoenix could bond. I was wondering who would make the most interesting phoenix-mutant combos, and here's some thoughts:
- Elixir - Here's an omega-level mutant who literally holds life and death in his hands; who better to embody the Phoenix? Additionally, Elixir already has a "light-side/dark-side" thing going on very similar to the Phoenix/Dark Phoenix manifestations. I t…

With only two issues left in Allan Heinberg/Jim Cheung's amazing Avengers: The Children's Crusade Vol 1, the big question is: How will it end and who will survive?
We have Avengers, Young Avengers, Secret Avengers, Mighty Avengers, former Avengers, X-Men, X-Factor, and Dr. Doom all trying to control the fate of the Scarlet Witch. On top of that we've had several Marvel writers/editors suggest that the outcome of Children's Crusade will effect the Marvel U and tie into both Schism/Regenesis and Fear Itself. But how?
Will the Scarlet Witch restore all the lost mutant powers? Will she rejoin the Avengers? Will the Maximoff family reunion last? Will anyone acknowledge that the Vision is Wiccan and Speed's dad?!
Here's my guesses: Wanda doesn't su…

I am usually a HUGE fan of PAD, and this issue had some great moments, but overall I feel like it was pretty anticlimactic.
This whole arc seemed a bit drawn out, which I wouldn't mind IF there had been more pay off in the end. Before Rahne gave birth we already knew the child could be evil (because of Darwin meeting Tier) and we already knew it would have crazy mysterious half-god powers, and in the last few issues we knew that a ton of demon/gods were after it. After the birth, we have no knew info. It seems like this isn't an end at all. It's obvious the child will come back, Feral's clearly not done either, Darwin still has to show up, etc. I enjoy the continuous storyline PAD writes, but I felt like I needed just a bit more closure her…
