This arc wasn't terrible, but I am glad to see it done with.

X-Men Legacy Vol 1 258

Great (enough) end issue. Korvus actually talked this issue! He was sad not to actually be home. But what was his home? A jail cell? Seriously, this guy never really had a life to begin with. Can't he just start anew on Earth? I thought he liked Rachel. If he did, he'd stay.

It focused on Rachel more than the rest of the Starjammers, though I guess that theoretically make more sense since she'll be staying around on Legacy, plus Mike Carey seems to enjoy writing independent women.

Seriously. Rogue. Karima. Frenzy. Rachel. Seriously. Speaking of Karima, what ever happened to her..? Why hasn't she been shown in like, five issues? lol!

So this Friendless guy is gone-as far as we know. Rogue basically teleported about a billion citizens of Shi'ar in Earth orbit. what? How do they get back?

I forgot for a second just how long these Starjammers guys have been gone. They were gone since before Messiah Complex. Woah. They HAVE missed so much. And with some spoilers aside, it will be interesting to see them back again on Earth.

All in all, I personally felt like this story arc could have been a bit better. In my personal opinion, this isn't the way Mike Carey should have gone out, but what are you gonna do..? At least he went out on his terms. So, I'll give this one a 3 out of 5. The art wasn't that great to be honest, and there wasn't that much going on. But hey, if you're a fan of Havok and the gang, you'll probably want to pick it up anyways. :)

P.S. - Speaking of Mike Carey, it sure is sad for me especially to see him go. As a kid I read an issue here and there of X-Men and maybe some other Marvel, but I really got back into comics around the time he started writing X-Men. I really did back in New X-Men, but this brought me back to Marvel on a larger scale. Messiah Complex really wrapped my mind in to Marvel, and X-Men was the main book I was on. So it is a little sad to see him go.. Anyways, personal story over, if you're a fan of Carey as much as I am, you'll want to check out a great interview with him over on Check it out here.

P.P.S. - Since X-Men: Legacy will be taking on a new writer soon, I may (it depends) be dropping this book. I'm not too familiar with Gage's work, besides Avengers Academy, obviously. And they'll be with Wolverine, so idk.. I'll for sure pick up the issues with Exodus, but I'm not so sure how much I'll stick around with after... This used to be my favorite book, but with Carey's leave it very well could be the end of an era for me. One can only hope for the best....

P.P.P.S. - Did I talk more in "PS"s then actual review? Woah.
