Thanks for updating Bob Russo and Scar Turpin! Those older characters often get skipped over when it comes to new content. Keep up the great work!

Comics

I notice that you did a page for Captain Marvel #28. While we always appreciate new users, you might want to check out the Naming Conventions page to see how pagenames are formatted. You might also benefit from checking out one of the numerous comics done in the Comics section to get a better idea of how the various sections of the template work, and how the finished products look.

Captain Marvel #30

Cool. Looks like you have things pretty much down. Right now, we're using Comics: at the beginning, and Vol between the Title and the Volume number. (Though it looks like you figured it out). If you ever have any questions, leave me a message via my talk page. (I'm pretty quick to respond there).

Keep up the awesome work! Your comic entries are fantastic!

Vol 4

On PeteparkerBot's talk page, you put the link as:

Captain America Vol4 28

There are two reasons this won't like to an actual comic page.

 1. There's no 'Comics:' at the beginning.
 2. There's no space between 'Vol' and '4'.

So the real link would be:

Comics:Captain America Vol 4 28

or you can write:

Captain America Vol 4 #28

which is a little fancy thing that will make the link for you.

If neither of these two methods work, than the comic page doesn't exist yet. Try looking at Comics:Captain America Vol 4 to make sure that's the volume you're talking about. It's possible no one has made a page for it yet. :)

Hope this helps.

Nice Job on Cap and the Avengers! Keep plugging away.--Stature 03:43, 17 July 2008 (UTC)

Hey, you caught me! ;) Mostly I'm just fixing the quotes. When you quote "Captain America" you get a red link at the bottom of the page. If you put Steven Rogers (Earth-616) in that spot the database will track it and add it to the Steven Rogers quotes page. Also I'm making sure companies like Malibu, Comicraft, and Digital Chameleon are listed in the info box, again so the database can compile all their appearances on the respective pages. Other than that I'm just making sure Sharon Carter (Earth-616) just reads as Sharon Carter, that sort of thing. By the way, I love how you list who was featured on the letters page. That's one of the best ideas anyone has ever had on this wiki.--Stature 18:37, 4 November 2008 (UTC)
They link stays red because no has created the page yet. Click the red link and add the template {--{Location Appearances}--} to the field, then click Save Page (minus the --'s which I only used so I don't screw up your talk page) . For a quotes page you would type {--{Quotes}--}. I hope that made sense. Check out the various souce pages and you will get the hang the various templates.
But wait there's more! ;) I tried to create a page for Counter Earth appearances but I got a warning that page was recently deleted. So you might want to hold off on that until you check with User:M1shawhan and get his reasoning for deleting the page first.--Stature 20:33, 4 November 2008 (UTC)

Heroes Reborn

Yeah, I see the Hereos Reborn Universe the same way. I've been using "Character Name (Heroes Reborn) (Earth-616)" and so far no one has yelled at me yet so I think its working. Check out Iron Man Vol 2 and Fantastic Four Vol 2. I've worked on those volumes extensively I think its pretty accurate. I left Hellcat red because I don't know who HR Hellcat is... but otherwise its mostly complete. I've been using minor character templates for the most part, because to be honest, most of the Heroes Reborn characters are not as interesting as their mainstream counterparts--Stature 21:06, 4 November 2008 (UTC)

Sorry that I am jumping in on this and you hadn't even put the comment on MY talk page...but definitely revert something if I did it wrong. I saw your comments on Stature's user page. The Heroes Reborn pages confuse the hell out of me and I may have deleted something incorrectly. If you see something that I deleted PLEASE ADD IT...you don't have to let me know. ;) Plus I may have deleted for a completely different reason altogether. Let me know though if you have any questions. --M1shawhan 00:19, 5 November 2008 (UTC)
Cheers. The confusing thing is there are actually two counter earths. The High Evolutionary one I know very little about and the Heroes Reborn one. I'll poke around, see what can be done.--Stature 06:50, 5 November 2008 (UTC)
Ugh! Not like Marvel needs one more confusing universe for us to index. ;) I truthfully will be of little help in this area. I knew there were 2 different counter Earth's but that was after I deleted that page and I forgot about it. That was as far as my knowledge went. I really will have to delve into all those comics one of these days since I stopped collecting right when the Onslaught storyline hit. I'll try to help out more after I read through some of the stories. --M1shawhan 00:20, 6 November 2008 (UTC)

RE: Captain America Vol 3

I like your work. You obviously have a great deal of feeling for the character. Perhaps you can answer a question that has been puzzling me since I first found the site a few months ago. The indexers, like yourself, who put so much work into listing character appearances have obviously read the issue they are working on, and yet so few of them bother to make any comment under the synopsis heading. Why? Is this some sort of intimidation about writing? or, Is the site geared towards people who focus on the characters? I actually have never focused much on the characters, because the stories are what I find entertaining. The only two areas I generally have interest in here are writer/artist (because I ask myself "Do I like this creative team?") and synopsis (because I am curious what happened in that issue). BTW, would you happen to know of a good source of synopsis data on the net for Captain America? I can't seem to find one.

Avalon's Bart

Never heard of him. Those were the crazy days when they would only put the letterer or colourists intitials in the credits. If it every comes up, Comicrafts' AD is Albert Deschesne, but Bart, I have no clue.--Stature 04:15, 19 November 2008 (UTC)

High Evolutionary

Far from being the "expert". I think I got it though. If I have issues with stuff like that (where the link above is a valid link, but the appearances is a redlink), I will normally follow the blue-link to the page it has. In this case, the character 'Herbert Wyndham (Earth-616)' was right, but it redirected to the page 'Herbert Edgar Wyndham (Earth-616)'. If you add the page that it links to, it will 9x out of 10 fix your issue. ;) Let me know if that made sense or not since it is easier done than said! --M1shawhan 01:59, 23 February 2009 (UTC)

I don't like how we use the middle name on that one either. I added a move tag to remove it.
Nathan (Peteparker) (Earth-1218) (talkcontribsemail) 03:56, 23 February 2009 (UTC)

Aquarius

Maybe you could take a look at this. Are we getting these guys a little mixed up? Zachary Drebb (Earth-616) and Darren Bentley (Earth-616)--Max 21:51, 26 March 2009 (UTC)

Kincaid...

Not a problem. I have made many errors as well and the spelling ones seem to be the most embarrassing. I check the To Be Deleted page every day, so if something goes wrong, just tag it and I or another admin will clean it out promptly.
I commend you for leaving a "reason for deletion". Some users just tag the pages and never explain why they want them gone. Then I have to try and track down their rationale. Keep up the good work!

Giant-Size Headache Vol 1 1

Whew! That Giant-Size Iron Man had many little links to eradicate. I think I have fixed everything, but if you find something else, let me know.
When you are trying to fix stuff like that, always check the "What links here" link on the left hand side of the page. That will show you what other pages are linking to the incorrect page. Edit as many of them as you can and point them to the right place. Then, the cleanup becomes easier.
Good catch on those pages. Keep those awesome edits rolling!
Artful Dodger 02:11, 3 April 2009 (UTC)

Slag

I deleted the page and I combined the information on the two pages. If you need a page deleted, you can also edit the code and add the text Category:To Be Deleted.

Thanks for keeping an eye on the site! Keep up the good edits.
Artful Dodger 12:06, 7 May 2009 (UTC)

Iron Man Armor

You should definitely start on this page. See if what you want is already there. If not, edit that page to make an link to the new page you want to create. Such as:

File:WhateverTheImageIsCalled.jpg|MakeThisThePageYouWantButWhichDoesn'tExistYet

Then, when you save it, your new page link will be a red link. Click on it and it will ask you to create the page. Hope this makes sense. Write me back if it doesn't.

reprints

Hey,

Thanks for the advice... I think I'm going to try and use your work as an example when doing pages for reprint titles, I appreciate it!

Domakesaythink 16:36, 6 June 2009 (UTC)

No worries, patronize away!

I don't think that any of these stories have been shaved down or changed much. I have both the original and reprint series downloaded and have compared some of the stories just to see. The original Atlas stories were all only between 4-8 pages anyway and appear to be intact in the reprint titles, the only thing that may be off is the coloring. In terms of the pin-ups, yeah I've seen several of those in the Rawhide Kid and Kid Colt series' of the mid-60s like you said, when I get around to doing those series I'll be sure to take your advice and cataloge their appearances. I could even go a step further, I've got the entire Rawhide, Colt, Two-Gun and Ringo Kid series' downloaded, any idea where an appropriate place would be to upload the images of the pin-ups? Maybe in the individual's character galleries, and place links to them from within the comic page? Anyway, let me know what you think!

I'm pretty excited about working on this western project as well, as it seems to be one of the few parts of the database that hasen't yet been thoroughly taken care of by anybody, so I get first dibbs! :) I've already created or edited close to a hundred western character pages, and looking forward to doing much more... I think I might be at this for a very long time, lol

Domakesaythink 19:44, 8 June 2009 (UTC)

Avengers 142

Hey Batroc,

There is definitely a page for Two-Gun's horse Thunder, as for Steel, I haven't gotten around to doing Kid Colt's pages yet, but there will be a page for his horse as well at some point soon. If you want, I'll be sure to link the page with this issue once I get it done.

As for the villains, the names don't really ring any bells. The only Old West villain that I can think of with the name Ace is Ace Fenton (Earth-616), code named the Grizzly, but I have serious doubts that it's the same character. There really hasen't been much work done on the minor old west villains, I've ended up doing a pile of pages for them myself, but so far have really only managed to get through the Rawhide Kid and Outlaw Kid series,' so there is definitely still a ton of unrecorded villains out there which need to be documented.

And no, most of the old west heroes never hung out in the same town, at least never for very long. There is actually two old west towns by the name of Tombstone as well... one in Arizona and one in Texas. Kid Colt had a few adventures in the Arizona tombstone, and the Texas one was the home of the Two-Gun Kid. The Night Rider/Phantom Rider predominately stayed in Bison's Bend but sometimes travelled and teamed up with some of these other guys. Kid Colt, Rawhide Kid and the Ringo Kid were all fugitives from the law and were pretty much always moving on from town to town.

Hope this helps! Domakesaythink 16:31, 14 July 2009 (UTC)

Joe Orlando

Nice work. Always nice to see someone work on our staff pages. ;)--Max 22:40, 25 August 2009 (UTC)

Bob Brown

Never really thought about what to do in this situation. Middle initial would probably work fine, assuming you know what it is.--Max 02:36, 1 September 2009 (UTC)

Let me see if I can find some middle initials ,,, as a Silver Bronze Age guy, I'm not as familiar with the contemporary version of Bob Brown... If you have an epiphany, let me know. Batroc 12:19, 1 September 2009 (UTC)

Mordecai Boggs

Never fear change and all can be reverted on the site if done in error. ;) For this one, I just merged your info into the other page and then set it as a redirect that way anyone looking for the page with a "P." will be redirected to the other article. All the pages that linked to the your page have been changed to link to the other and then deleted. No big deal. --M1shawhan 00:19, September 10, 2009 (UTC)

Daredevil

Fixed. Here's the catch though. We are trying to have all the comics read the title name from the index inside the comic (the publishing info usually found on the first or last pages of the comic). Anyhow, the "cover title" shows "Daredevil and Black Widow". Although this is the assumed title during that time, the actual published title is "Daredevil #107". At some point the comic will be renamed and setup to show just Daredevil. In the meantime though, I added the NextIssue and PreviousIssue fields to those pages (check em out if needed) and it works. --M1shawhan 22:48, September 16, 2009 (UTC)

Turk

The characters on both those pages are the same character... however, there are many "Turks" in Earth-616. I deleted it to make way for a disambig at some point on "Turk" and then also "Turk (Earth-616)" since there will not be a "Turk (Earth-616)" name outright without disambiguating further. --M1shawhan 21:48, October 15, 2009 (UTC)

Hawkeye's Bow

Hey, Hope you don't mind, but I saw that you made an edit to Hawkeye's Bow so I thought I'd just help you out and uploaded an image of his bows from one of the old handbooks. Hope that's cool. Domakesaythink 16:32, February 16, 2010 (UTC)

State U

I'd say feel free to go ahead and make any changes you think you need to make. Maybe leave a note on the talk page about what changes you have, just to cover bases in case anyone is interested. The idea that there are two State U's in the Marvel Universe is news to me.--Max 18:35, April 8, 2010 (UTC)

Phoenix: The Untold Story

If you can get me an issue and page# citation for the image, that would be great! ... By original ending, you also mean that its actually Jean and not Phoenix Force, right? And does this mean its an alternate universe? (I swear, bringing sense to the Jean/Phoenix nonsense is one of the hardest parts of figuring out marvel continuity - why couldn't Jean have just stayed dead?) --Squirrelloid 18:15, June 1, 2010 (UTC)

Jack Armbruster

If you ever run across a page you feel would be better suited elsewhere, add the following:

to the top of the page. Obviously replacing "page you want it moved to here" with the pagename you feel would be more appropriate. What that does is twofold:

1. It sets up a category that, eventually, a bot will catch. That bot will then make sure everything gets moved appropriately.

2. It allows other people to chime in, in the event that they don't agree. If it's correcting a name (like this), most people aren't going to have a problem, but it at least gives them the chance to disagree before the move occurs and any discussion that needs to occur hopefully will.

If you have any problems with it, if I wasn't clear on something, or want to ask any questions, feel free to ask. But, this way, hopefully, you won't have to ask someone else whenever you need to do something like this. Assuming I explained things well enough.
