::By the way, I'm not entirely clear what it is about about the short version you want to change. I put the part you added about the origin of the Hulk at the beginning because that seemed faily important. Otherwise I'm not sure what we are missing. I haven't read your entire expanded version. --[[User:Stature|Max]] 08:34, March 12, 2010 (UTC)

Hi. I've been away for a while. I took a look and everything seems to be working.--[[User:Stature|Max]] 17:57, October 14, 2010 (UTC)

Hi Taikage! Thanks for all the detailed work you've put into the Ultimate Spider-Man biography. Its very detailed and will be useful for years to come. You might be wondering why we've hidden it. We are concerned that the average database reader who is looking to get caught up quickly will be overwhelmed by such a massive detailed history. We placed the smaller cliffsnotes version first, which is more practical for the reader on the go who wants to get info quickly, but wants to save the subtle nuances for the reading of the stories themselves. So what we've done in order to accomodate your work is we've placed your expanded version underneath the cliffsnotes for additional information. Think of it as the fast food version, while yours is Filet mignon. Please, continue to add to the biography. We don't often get original writing on this site and we are very happy to have you. --Max 21:31, February 11, 2010 (UTC)

Okay, I see where you are coming from. Basically I grabbed the version that existed before you started expanding it because it was all I really had to work with at the time. The short version is by no means set in stone and we can improve it.--Max 22:24, February 11, 2010 (UTC)
the expanded version can be found and edited here. It is still included on the original page, but has to be edited on the new page. This is just to avoid problems with browsers that can't handle that much information while editing. The Peter Parker page is exactly the same in appearance and otherwise changes nothing. Thanks for being understanding.--Max 02:06, February 14, 2010 (UTC)
I'm working on it. I'm trying to get it to work as a hide/show function like we did with the Spider-Man bio. I won't lie to you though. I'm not a big fan of that template. I think its excessive. By the way, have you ever considered trying your hand at plot synopsises in our comics section?--Max 20:36, February 25, 2010 (UTC)

Max, I organized the entire character roster as neatly as possible. I mean i could reduce it to just a list of names, but it seems lacking without proper grouping and structure. I just thought it was high time there was a template because it was annoying for me to always click and type around for a character; that's why i made the template. As for Ultimate Spider-Man's history, if you feel it's too big, you could simply remove the navigation template box and just make a link instead, something along the lines of "click here for complete history". That way, the page's minimalism is kept. As for comic plot/synopsis, i let my history edits do the talking, i rarely dive into such things. I only care about a few ultimate characters, mainly Ultimate Spider-Man. I'm actually mainly a Gundam wikia editor who just wanted a change of pace for once. Wasabi 21:25, February 25, 2010 (UTC)

Trust us, we like easy access to stuff too. Thing is, we also have to look at how the stuff is presented to other users and the look of the pages. The more info on a page (especially the full breakdown of the Ultimate universe characters -- in table form) is a little overwhelming for most of our users. I am going to attempt to add the navigation show/hide and see if I can adjust it to keep all the info you want, while making it aesthetically okay for us admins and other users. If you have ANY questions, feel free to ask here or on my talk page. I'll add it in once I make a few changes to the navigation template anyhow to make sure this looks like you are wanting it as well. --M1shawhan 02:24, February 26, 2010 (UTC)
Yeah, once we get the hide/show navigation on ther I can't see any other objections. Its just the actual implementation of that Navigation seems a little above my pay grade, so to speak.--Max 02:54, February 26, 2010 (UTC)
Took it upon myself to fix it, hope everyone's happy now. :)

Yes, the history for the short and long version sorta just collide each other in the menu. That.... annoys me too. The expanaded biographies are something new we are trying. Honestly, that was an unforseen side-effect and I'm not sure how to fix that. Maybe Nathan or Jamie will come along and help out with that.
Otherwise, the only thing I'm looking in a character summary is that its accurate and it says what you need to know to jump into the next issue. I prefer a summary where I don't feel like someone is just reading the the comics to me beat by beat. If I see whole sections of dialogue recited or overly descriptive paragraphs, I'm either going to streamline it or created an expanded page. You kind of just learn to trust your best judgment after a while. I think Stephen Strange (Earth-616) is a good example of what I personally like. It covers almost fifty years of the character's history at a nice pace and usually gets to the point rather quickly and nicely. When I see "...and then Aunt May passed Peter Parker the salt" I'm probably going to take some kind of action. --Max 08:29, March 12, 2010 (UTC)
By the way, I'm not entirely clear what it is about about the short version you want to change. I put the part you added about the origin of the Hulk at the beginning because that seemed faily important. Otherwise I'm not sure what we are missing. I haven't read your entire expanded version. --Max 08:34, March 12, 2010 (UTC)
