History
The past history of Contessa Valentina Allegra de la Fontaine mirrors that of her Earth-616 counterpart.
Valentina was an early member of S.H.I.E.L.D. and remained with the organization for decades. During the various crises created by the release of the Terrigen Mists into Earth's atmosphere, S.H.I.E.L.D. was one of few organizations trying to keep the world in order. Norman Osborn eventually managed seized control of the United States after uniting various superhumans against the alien Hydra parasites. Suspicious of his motivations, S.H.I.E.L.D. learned that Osborn had in fact created the parasites and used them as a common foe to seize power.[3] [3]

Hydra host
Before S.H.I.E.L.D. could move against him, Osborn unleashed the Hydra on them, destroying their Helicarrier and killing all of them, including Dugan.[3] While Valentina's body was possessed by the Hydra, her soul made its way to the Realm of the Dead.[1]
Her soul would be inducted in Mar-Vell's army of the dead in a final battle against Death, Thanos and Mephisto. Later she would be granted a place in Mar-Vell's Paradise.[2] [4]Attributes
