History
When Contessa Valentina Allegra de Fontaine allegedly died in a Russian gulag, a Life Model Decoy (LMD) of her was created by the Outer Circle. The LMD founded O.X.E., which became affiliated with the Circle.[1]
8 years after the death of the original Contessa, the LMD was approached by Bucky Barnes, who mistook her for the original. Barnes had become involved with Outer Circle as its New Revolution but after dissolving the organization he inherited its intel. With the resources of the Outer Circle and O.X.E., Val accepted the Revolution's proposal to form a new Thunderbolts team to permanently eliminate the Red Skull and his enterprises.[1]
The two recruited the Destroyer and Red Guardian for their first mission to raid Red Skull's base in Argentina. Val's status as a LMD was revealed to her teammates during the mission. The Thunderbolts managed to kill Red Skull's host body Aleksander Lukin and destroyed his base.[1]
With the Red Skull's fortune guarded by the White King, the Val and Revolution recruited Black Widow and White Widow to infiltrate a party hosted by the Hellfire Club where ownership of the funds were being transferred. The Thunderbolts resorted to trapping the Skull's Nazi gold in an inaccessible pocket dimension, much to Val's dismay, as she had plans for it. At Thunderbolts Mountain, Val informed Revolution that their actions have financially crippled the Red Skull but his last remaining Red Site was located in Latveria, warning that Nazi assets within the U.S. Government plan to destroy the Latverian site to cover the Skull's tracks, possibly starting another World War.[2]
After the Revolution recruited Shang-Chi and U.S. Agent, Val confirmed that the rest of the Thunderbolts were ready to strike against the Red Skull's final base.[3] Doctor Doom Thunderbolts entry into Latveria, forcing the team to infiltrate the country while giving them a ten minute window before Doom would destroy them after detecting their presence. The Thunderbolts found and attacked the Red Skull in his base. Val's body was badly damaged by the Red Skull during the assault, but Red Guardian recovered her head just in time for the Thunderbolts to teleport into a pocket dimension just as Doom arrived to attack the Thunderbolts for trespassing; Doom's energy blast ended up killing the Red Skull instead. Infuriated that he was proven wrong and and even more so by being used by the Thunderbolts, Doom contacted the Revolution through Val's head to threaten him, but Revolution was able to talk him down. Back at Thunderbolts Mountain, Val had her head attached to a new robot body and the Thunderbolts discussed their next targets.[4]Attributes

Life Model Decoy: As an android, a Life Model Decoy possesses all of the various superhuman attributes:
- Superhuman Strength: An LMD is super humanly strong and possesses beyond the human limits.
- Superhuman Speed: An LMD can run and move at speeds that are beyond the physical limits of the finest human athlete.
- Superhuman Durability: An LMD construction makes her very durable. She is completely bulletproof and can even resist explosive bullets with no damage.[1]
- Superhuman Stamina: An LMD can exert itself well beyond the human limit.
- Superhuman Agility: An LMD's agility, balance, and bodily coordination are enhanced to levels that are beyond the natural physical limits of the finest human athlete.
- Quick Repair: The nanites in an LMD give her body form of self-repair.
- Plasma Cannons: She has plasma cannons built inside of her body, including one in her head and one in each hand.[1]
- Invisibility: Possesses cloaking technology that can turn her invisible.[1]
- Cables: Can project cables from her hands that can connect to computer systems.[1]
