Valley Forge is a location in Pennsylvania, famous for having hosted the winter camps of the Continental Army led by George Washington during the American Revolutionary War.
At an unspecified location, Mrs. Harding rented a room to Paul, a penniless writer, telling him that the old desk in that room had belonged to George Washington and that he had used the quill pen on it to write his motivational speech to his troops at Valley Forge before joining them for battle.[1]
