The Valley of Wailing Mists is a fog-shrouded expanse in the southern part of Avalon on Otherworld, steeped in mystery and guarded by the echoes of ancient sorcery.[1]
History
The Wailing Mists,[2] or Valley of Wailing Mists, stretches through the land of Gorre, a day's ride southwest of Camelot.[3] It lies west of the Great Rift and northeast of what was once Castle Le Fay.[1] Only the most daring sorcerers venture into its eerie depths, where the valley’s perpetual fog obscures the landscape and veils its secrets.[4]
The valley's history is intertwined with Castle Le Fay, the former home of Morgan Le Fay, which was concealed by the mists.[3] Both the valley and the castle are believed to have been relocated to Avalon from the Earth realm centuries ago, similar to Camelot.[5]
In recent times, the Valley became a battlefield during the invasion of Otherworld by Horoam'ce, the Goat of Self-Propagation. The Goat's undead army claimed the land beyond the Great Rift and the Wailing Mists[2] before being defeated.[6] Later, the Manchester Gods sought to invade the valley, intending to destroy Castle Le Fay, a critical place of Otherworld's power.[7]
