The Vegas Gold Chip was a thriving football team. Hippo was hired by a man named Marlowe to injure the team's quarterbacks since he had heavily bet on the Gold Chips' opponents. After injuring the main quarterback Bruce Campitti at a motel, Hippo targeted his backup, Kerry Wright, and attacked him at Las Vegas Stadium. Kerry was saved by the Scarlet Spider.[1]
