History
Venkiera was a Shadow Priest of the Shadow People. She was taught to believe that there were reason in the world, but that worldview changed 100 years prior when the last of the Shadow Elders fought against the Fifth Imperium. The Shadow Elders were aided by the Hulk and his allies, and Venkiera witnessed the power of the Hulk and gamma-enhanced allies. Though the majority of the Fifth Imperium killed was do to the Imperium bombing the battlefield, Venkiera blamed the Hulk and his allies for their deaths. She later attributed to Sakaar's problems to all gamma mutates, especially to the gamma mutated race, the Haarg.[1]
Venkiera began concocting a plan to rid Sakaar of Haarg and other gamma enhanced beings by channeling gamma energy from a gamma being into a doomsday weapon that would destroy the planet itself. She first planned to get the energy needed from Amadeus Cho by luring into a trap by capturing young Haarg, but Cho proved to be too weak. So, Venkiera let him go so he would bring her the Hulk. Instead, Cho brought the Hulk's cousin Jen Walters who proved to a suitable substitute for the Hulk. After draining Walters of her gamma energy, Venkiera used it to cause geologic upheaval across Sakaar.[2]
Cho was able to free Jen from Venkiera's machine, but it didn't stop the planet's geological upheaval. While Sakaar was being devastated, Venkiera flew off into outer space in a Stone Starship with her most devoted followers to await Sakaar's destruction.[3]
Venkiera and her followers later returned to Sakaar to confront Cho and his allies and revealed that she wanted everyone on Sakaar killed, believing that they had been turned into monsters by the Haarg and were beyond redemption. Cho located her doomsday device, and the Hulk destroyed it. However, the device's true purpose was to stop Sakaar's molten core from spinning, which would leave Sakaar vulnerable to cosmic rays. This was quickly solved when the Hulk struck the core, causing it to start spinning again. With Sakaar saved, everyone made peace with one another.[4]Attributes
