Attempting to possess Pavitr Prabhakar

Spider-Man: India

Using a cursed ancient amulet, Nalin Oberoi attempted to corrupt Pavitr Prabhakar. Pavitr encountered an ancient and evil guardian that tried to possess him, beginning to turn his costume black and manifesting a mouth of tusk-like fangs, but Pavitr remembered his Uncle Bhim and rejected it.[1]

The Ancient Amulet

Web-Warriors

After Pavitr left to join the Warriors of the Great Web, a cult called the Neo-Alvers recovered Oberoi's amulet and summoned the demon, which unleashed a horde of amorphous black demons that possessed them, turning them into monsters, and began to spread across India. The Warriors of the Great Web arrived in time to help evacuate Mumbai, and while the rest of the team fought the demons and evacuated civilians, Pavitr and Lady Spider travelled to the Ajanta Caves, where the demon had made its lair. The demon attacked them, proclaiming that the Spiders' time had ended and the reign of its kind had begun. Battling the monster, Pavitr and May located the amulet and shattered it for good, rendering the demon and its ilk inert just before the rest of the team was about to be possessed. A sample of the black ooze that composed the demon and its offshoots was taken by the Spider-Man of Earth-90214 so that it could be studied.[2]
