History

After attempting to repair a damaged suit, Peter was engulfed by the symbiote, forming a new black suit and giving him enhanced powers and abilities. Peter abandoned the symbiote in a church, where it engulfed Eddie Brock and they became Venom.

Much later, Venom was captured by Oscorp so that they may study the symbiote. During the Cosmic Brick crisis, Venom managed to escape and infect numerous Oscorp employees with the symbiote.

Cosmic Brick Crisis

When Spider-Man, Hawkeye, and Black Widow followed the Green Goblin to Oscorp, they were sent through a trap door to the lower levels of the building, where Venom's breakout had occurred. Venom stalked the three heroes throughout the entire floor, until he cornered them in a room. Venom fought the three heroes, but was eventually defeated when they exploited his weaknesses to sonic vibrations and fire. His attack, however, gave the Green Goblin just enough time to escape.

Kang's Invasion

Venom started to feel like the Symbiote was taking over and met up with fellow Symbiote Carnage and went to a clinic to get them checked out. However, it turned out that said clinic was a front for The Lizard to capture the two. Carnage then broke Venom out and the two fought the Lizard and escaped, later going to a park and playing Frisbee together.
