History
The Venom symbiote's history is presumably similar to its Earth-616 counterpart's. Instead of bonding to Peter Parker, it bonded to Nighthawk after returning from Battleworld, who eventually got it rid of it after finding out it was alive.[1]
Nighthawk later chose to rebond to the symbiote in order to battle his teammate Hyperion over their differences over the Registration Act. The symbiote wanted Nighthawk to kill Hyperion, but Nighthawk refused. Hyperion overpowered Nighthawk and got the symbiote off him by exposing him to the heat of the Sun.[2]
The symbiote survived and eventually bonded with Johann Shmidt, turning him into the Black Skull. When the Masters of Doom launched attacks on different locations in Washington, D.C., it, Black Skull, and a group of Hydra soldiers attacked the Capitol Building and took Congress hostage. After the Hydra soldiers were taken out by Nighthawk with help from Blade the Vampire Hunter, Nighthawk fought it and Black Skull.[3]
Skull and the symbiote were defeated and imprisoned in Ravencroft Asylum. Skull and the symbiote were freed along with other prisoners after the Goblin staged a takeover of Ravencroft. When Nighthawk came to retake the prison, the symbiote attempted to rebond with Nighthawk, which angered Skull. Skull and the symbiote were eventually subdued when Nighthawk used a sonic device on his belt on the symbiote.[1]
Along with his host, the Symbiote joined the Multiversal Masters of Evil and slaughter prehistoric Avengers on countless Earths. The Black Skull claimed Earth-21170 (transformed Earth-21170) as his own,[4] turning it into a prison world. He was eventually separated from the Symbiote by All-Rider, who burned the Symbiote as penance.[5]
