History
The Venom symbiote began its life on an alien world manipulated by the Celestials. With their genetics manipulated to serve as defenders of the Celestial embryo within their planet, Venom's people soon lost all shape and definition, instead becoming shaped by the perceptions and beliefs of others. In the case of the Venom symbiote, Peter Parker and its subsequent hosts believed it to be an amorphous alien costume, and thus that is what it became.
The early life and history of the symbiote largely mirrors that of its Earth-616 counterpart. First bonding to Spider-Man, the symbiote proceeded to bond with Eddie Brock after being rejected by Spider-Man, with the two uniting to exact vengeance on Parker.[3]
Years later, the symbiote abandoned Brock, who was by then a tired and useless man. It sought out Spider-Man's daughter May in the hopes of stealing her away from her father. However, May's innate powers allowed her to control and rehabilitate the malevolent alien, though their union would drive a wedge between May and her father, who continued to mistrust the symbiote.[4][3][5]See Also
