Synopsis for "Sin Of The Father"

As Dylan Brock walks down a dark street, the Venom symbiote warns him that they are being hunted. Transforming into Venom, Dylan asks what's hunting them, the symbiote replying they are being hunted by its grandchild. As Toxin pounces on Venom from above, Venom -- the symbiote in the driver's seat -- mockingly greets its grandchild. Snaring Toxin with chains, Venom sardonically asks if they look like easy prey, but Toxin retracts from its host's face, Bren Waters saying they came to warn Dylan. As Venom declares its intent to smother Bren, Dylan tells it to stop and let him go. Retracting the Toxin symbiote, Bren pulls out a photo and asks if Dylan is the person in it.

A few minutes later, Venom and Toxin sit together on a rooftop, Dylan saying the photo was taken at Alchemax a few weeks ago, when he escaped from being used as a test subject. As Dylan asks how Bren obtained it, Bren says he found it in his father Ozkar's office as part of a dossier naming Dylan as the prime suspect of attacks on Alchemax personnel. Bren asks if Dylan is responsible, but Dylan says that while he has no love for Alchemax he doesn't kill people just for doing their jobs -- Venom interjecting that that depends on what the job is. Bren explains that several Alchemax personnel have disappeared and the corporation has been investigating anyone with a grudge against it. Bren notes that while he knows his father is one of the Guardsmen, Ozkar is lying that he's not and Bren is worried that he will be next.

Arriving at a ransacked home, Natasha Romanoff notes that she's too late. Spotting an open laptop, she watches a video where a bound man is being bled to death, the person holding him hostage saying that if the viewer acts now he may live. Noting that she can't act fast enough to save the man, Natasha leaves.

While biking, Bren calls his father, who says work at the office is running late. Urged by the Toxin symbiote, Bren asks if his father is alright, Ozkar saying that he is and apologizing; the Toxin symbiote sneering that he's lying. As Bren deliberates telling his father about the messages and the address, Ozkar hangs up and Bren suddenly receives a text message showing the bound man bleeding out. Alarmed, Bren tells Toxin to reach out to Venom through the Symbiote Hive-Mind, Toxin materializing in Venomworld. Confused by how empty it is, Toxin calls out and Venom replies that Venomworld serves as Dylan's personal Hive for the group he's putting together, and that while there are only a few of them there will soon be more. Through the Hive, Toxin shares the intel with Venom, who asks if Toxin thinks it's a trap. Toxin says that it almost certainly is but that it's their only lead. Venom summarizes that someone is blackmailing Alchemax by abducting and torturing its employees, smiling maliciously as Toxin verifies this. Venom asks what the blackmailers are after, and Toxin says they want Alchemax to publicly reveal some of its dark secrets. Toxin says they cannot allow the abducted man to die, Venom scoffing until Toxin reminds it of their deal to help Dylan find and fight Eddie Brock in exchange for Venom's help. Venom in turn relays the information to Dylan, Bren forwarding him the message he'd gotten. Disgusted and horrified, Dylan asks the Venom symbiote how quickly they can get there, but Venom says they won't get there fast enough to save the man.

Inside a warhouse, a hooded man wearing a gas mask sits before a computer bank, saying Bren Waters has arrived right on time. Sneering that Ozkar is oblivious to his son's nocturnal detective work, the person applauds the boy for putting the clues together before anyone else. Noting that his son used to be the same, going out on patrol with his friends, the masked man wonders aloud when a person loses their sense of innocent righteousness, the genuine desire to make the world a better place. Turning to the exsanguinating man, the masked man sneers that his colleagues at Alchemax would rather watch him die than admit to their wrongdoings, and are merely paying lip-service towards wanting to find him. Noting that the man's death through Alchemax's refusal to reveal the truth will serve as a demonstration of their resolve, the masked man says hopefully Alchemax will do better next time.

Smashing into the boarded up warehouse, Bren feels out of his depth and foolish; the Toxin symbiote noticing cameras and warning Bren that whoever's responsible knows he's there. Smelling something, Bren wonders what it is, but Toxin says he knows what it is: the scent of death. In the hallway, Bren finds the bodies of Paul and Martha, two of his father's coworkers. Swallowing back his nausea, Bren forges onwards, asking the Toxin symbiote if anyone is alive in the building. The Toxin symbiote detects life signs from downstairs and Bren proceeds down a staircase, horrified to find the walls covered with photos of himself and his father, as well as other Alchemax employees and their children. Telling Bren to focus, Toxin warns him it can smell explosives everywhere. At the base of a stairwell, Bren finds several bound teenagers and children, Toxin assuring him that they are drugged but alive. The masked figure emerges from a doorway, applauding Bren's bravery for fighting his father's fight when he should be in bed. Toxin warns Bren that the air is laced with a gas intended to drug him, and that Venom is en route. As the masked figure asks Bren if he knows what keeps them up at night, Bren -- told to keep the masked figure distracted -- asks what that is. The masked figure replies that they think about all the things they'd give up to have his son back, dreaming of giving their life to save his, but that all that love is wasted now that he's gone. Bren asks who his son was, but the masked man says that he was just a boy. Kneeling next to a teenaged girl, the masked man says that when a child dies everyone talks about how special they were, but that his son was just an average kid who liked to play football but wasn't great at it, liked watching cartoons and listening to bad music, and hated broccoli. Saying his son was just a kid but he was his kid and he loved him with every atom of his being, the masked man stands and pulls out a taser, asking if Bren's father loves him that much. As the taser zaps Bren, Toxin emerges and takes control. Shocked at the sight of a symbiote, the masked man is caught off-guard as Venom emerges from the shadows behind them. As Venom grabs the masked man, Toxin tells him the air is drugged and to save the bleeding Alchemax employee while he evacuates the kids and tears the masked man apart. As Toxin prepares to rip the man's throat out, Bren tells it to stop and that they need him alive to ask questions. As Toxin demands to know who he is, the masked man pulls the pin on a grenade. As Toxin and Venom sense that the employee has bled to death, the masked man says that he is no-one and is a member of nothing, tossing the grenade. As the chemicals in the air ignite, Toxin and Venom gather up the drugged children and carry them to safety as the warehouse explodes behind them. Peeling the tape off a girl's mouth, Bren asks who she is and she sluggishly replies over and over that she is no-one. As sirens approach, Dylan tells Bren they need to get out of there.

Watching from a nearby rooftop, Dylan grimly remarks that the only ones who showed up are Alchemax personnel, asking Bren what's going on. Bren says that he doesn't know but recognizes his father among the people below. Dylan's phone chimes and he opens it to see a video from the man calling himself No One, who says that it appears Alchemax has guardian angels -- or rather demons -- but that they missed the point, and that they cannot kill him because he is No One, and that this is only the beginning. As Bren asks what this means, Dylan says it means this is far from over.

The next morning, Natasha Romanoff investigates the burnt-out ruins of the warehouse. As she probes the ashes, she senses a presence and calls out; shining her flashlight around the room until she comes across a newly-spawned symbiote. Reaching out her hand, Natasha allows the newborn symbiote to bond to her, feeling its joy at having a host and warning it they are going straight into Hell.
