Vermilion the Red Sword of War was the blade wielded by the First Horsemen War.

History

During the attack of the First Horsemen of Apocalypse on the Starlight Citadel, Saturnyne intervened and set a contest where the forces of Krakoa and Arakko would each have ten swordbearers fighting in Otherworld. War armed with her Red Sword Vermilion was one of the Arakkii chosen as one of the Swordbearers of Arakko.

Attributes

• Flammability: Vermilion is able to ignite in flames without being damaged or consumed by fire. When used by War, the sword also appears to be able to direct and produce flames.

Trivia

• The word vermilion usually refers to a vibrant red or scarlet pigment. Originally, vermilion pigments were derived from the powdered mineral cinnabar (mercury sulfide).
