Vibranium is a rare meteoric ore that has been found in two distinct varieties in Wakanda and the Savage Land area. Wakandan Vibranium is often simply called Vibranium, while Antartic Vibranium is better known as Anti-Metal.
Vibranium is not as hard or dense as Adamantium, but it is still very durable. It is also easier to make objects out of, such as the mesh costume the Black Panther wears.
Vibranium has a unique advantage to other metals of similar strength in that it naturally absorb most energies. It is particularly effective in absorbing sound and light. However, it does not absorb all energy, and will explode if it exceeds its limit. The Roxxon Oil Corp were able to destroy a large amount of Vibranium with an airstrike, yet the destroyed Vibranium contained the sound of the explosion and prevented damage to the surrounding area.
"Anti-Metal" gives off a wavelength that allows it to break down the molecular bonds in other metals. It was discovered by Lord Plunder.
It is possible to convert Vibranium into Anti-Metal, but it is unknown if the opposite is true.
