- —Doctor Doom[src]
History
A long-time rival of Dr. Reed Richards, the brilliant Victor Von Doom was driven over the edge by his jealousy of Richards' comparable genius. Scarred in a lab accident that resulted from Doom's own arrogance, he fashioned a suit of armour and embarked on a quest for world dominance.[2]
Cosmic Brick Crisis[]
Plotting with Loki[]
When the Silver Surfer came to Earth to herald the coming of Galactus, Doctor Doom, partnering Loki, attempted to capture him and his surfboard. However, he accidentally destroyed the board, shattering it into fragments known as Cosmic Bricks. Having captured the Surfer, Doom assembled a team of villains to locate the Cosmic Bricks, planning to use them to prevent Earth's destruction, and creating a doom ray which would result in him becoming ruler of Earth.
Many of the villains Doom hired were able to be released from the raft due to Sabretooth's efforts. Despite this, however, Loki failed to secure the Tesseract, Doom sent Magneto to retrieve it from the X-Mansion, sending it to Latveria.
Attacked on Latveria[]
Now having the Tesseract and finding it in Latveria, Doom was confronted by Nick Fury and the Fantastic Four. However, Loki was able to stop them by blasting the roof, burying them in rocks. Doom and Loki then escaped together.
Research Sub ambush[]
Acquiring the assistance of A.I.M., Doom and Loki took to an A.I.M. sub. Once this sub was ambushed by Iron Man, Thor, and Peter Parker, Doom sent M.O.D.O.K. to ambush the three, using himself as bait in the process. After M.O.D.O.K. was defeated, Doom fled in the stolen S.H.I.E.L.D. research sub. However, this sub was buried by falling Debris, trapping it in the ocean. Eventually, Doom was confronted by Iron Man, Thor, Spider-Man and Jean Grey. Thor knocked Doom out with Mjolnir, dislodging the ship in the process. Doom was then rescued by Magneto, who used the Statue of Liberty to capture the ship. [1]
Battle on Asteroid M[]
With Asteroid M fully operational and ready, Doom and Loki joined Magneto there. Upon Iron Man, Thor and Spider-Man storming the asteroid, Doom sent Magneto to take care of them, abandoning him after he was defeated. The three then confronted Doom and Loki. Being supercharged by Loki's scepter, Doom blasted the three, knocking Iron Man and Thor back into the lower areas but failing to take out Spider-Man. Thing, Captain America, and Storm arrived to help Spider-Man, prompting Doom and Loki to retreat to the upper levels and continue their work. Eventually, the team of heroes made it to Doom, where he unleashed his full power upon them, channeling his powers into a forcefield whilst the group where attacked by a wave of standard doombots, acolytes and V-series Doombots before eventually channelling his power into a laser cannon that Captain America was able to deflect the blasts, destroying the cannons and allowing them to fight him directly. After working through the rest of his defenses, the heroes were finally able to defeat Doom, with the Thing punching him into space.[1]
Last Stand on the Helicarrier[]
Crashing down to Earth, Doom was contacted by Nick Fury, proposing an alliance to stop Loki and Galactus from destroying the Earth. Doom agreed to this, meeting up with Magneto and Abomination and taking his personal jet to the Helicarrier. Doom was assigned to 'Team Four' with Magneto, Cyclops and Storm. Team Four assembled a replica of Earth that contained Hulk and Thor, this fooled Galactus and they were able to knock him and Loki into the black hole. As per Fury and Doom's earlier agreement, the villains were given a thirty second head-start to escape, an idea that was unintentionally sabotaged by Hulk's inability to count to three, allowing the villains to escape.[1]
The Brick Apple[]
Whilst inside a model of New York city, Doom worked with Galactus to gain 100,000,000 studs. After this event, he is presumably captured off-screen by The Avengers, because he didn't appear as an ally to Kang in his invasion.[1]Paraphernalia
