History

Doctor Doom was the megalomaniacal leader of Latveria, who often ends up in brawls with The Fantastic Four and Spider-Man.

During an NYC Fantastic Four parade, Doom used his Doombots to attack the Fantastic Four. However, this was only a small portion of Doom's power. Doom has blackmailed, double-crossed and tricked his enemies into purposely or accidentally doing his evil bidding.

Doom disguised his bots as a regular person, which tricked Spider-Man into attacking them and getting injured. He then followed them through a portal to Latveria, and confronting Doom himself. Despite putting up a good fight, Doom had to retreat, even with the combined help of his bots.

Despite being a long-time enemy to the F4, Spider-Man and the Avengers, a Doombot disguised as Doom offered assistance in a fight against Thanos. However, despite defeating Thanos, his real plan was to take over the Earth and even obtained the Infinity Gauntlet. However, it wouldn't work for him, and Thanos ripped his bot, which had taken years to create, to shreds. Spider-Man claimed the Gauntlet, and wished Thanos had never collected the stones, reversing the entire epic and allowing the heroes to forget Doom's plan and bot.

Later, he tried to kidnap a woman called Linnette for reasons still unknown. Black Widow was hired to be her bodyguard, and in the final confrontation Doom stood down to prevent a public scandal.
