Vin was a synthezoid created by the Vision in his process to humanize himself through the creation of a family. The brainwaves of Vin and his co-creation and twin sister Vivian ("Viv" for short) came from the combination of the brain patterns of the Vision and Virginia, Viv and Vin's mother and Vision's wife.

The Visions moved to Arlington, Virginia, in order to facilitate Vision becoming the Avengers' White House liaison. The family became instant celebrities, with their neighbors constantly seeking pictures, which they shared online. This caught the attention of Eric Williams, who became upset that Vision would create a family that appeared to be happy, when the Williams family wasn't, as well as the fact that the Vision's brainwaves were taken from his brother, Simon, in the first place.

Both Vin and Viv attended to school at the Alexander Hamilton High School in Fairfax, but they were assigned different schedules to help them assimilate their classmates.

One night, while their father was away with the Avengers, the Grim Reaper broke into the Visions' home, running Viv through with his scythe. Vin rushed to her aid, but he too was struck down. Virginia then flew into a rage and beat Eric to death in front of her wounded children with a cookie sheet on their kitchen floor. In order to maintain the harmony of their household, Virginia asked her children not to tell their father about the events that had just transpired.[1]

Vin was left extremely distraught by the incident, displaying an erratic and apathetic behavior. This caused him to attack fellow student Chris Kinzky, Viv's lab partner, when he asked about Viv's absence from school. As a consequence of this scuffle, Vin was suspended from class.[2] Vin's emotional condition improved once Viv recovered from her injuries.[3] During a conversation with Viv, Chris Kinzky revealed he forgave Vin for his behavior.[4]

The Visions were soon visited by Victor Mancha, the "brother" of the Vision. One night, when Vin was playing with his dog Sparky, he accidentally came across Victor reporting to the Avengers. Victor's visit was a front for a secret investigation on the Vision, due to Agatha Harkness having alerted the Avengers of a potential tragedy that could be caused by the android.[5] Victor used his electromagnetic powers to contain Vin and prevent him from outing his operations, but a miscalculation caused him to damage Vin's nerve systems beyond repair, killing the boy as he cried for his father.[6]

Similarly to his father, Vin possesses a number of superhuman powers ultimately derived from his artificial substance and metabolism. Viv's android body is supposedly a functioning replica of a human body containing analogs to virtually all human organs, blood, and tissue, composed of an unknown synthetic organic-like substance. This substance mimics all the functions of human tissue, but is several times as strong, durable and resilient.[1]

Density Manipulation: The molecules in Vin's body are capable of separating or pulling themselves together, thus being able to control his density and solidity.[1]

  • Superhuman Strength: While Vin's strength is above human, increasing his density will additionally increase his strength.[1]
  • Intangibility: Vin can control his density to pass a part or all of his body through solid objects.[1]
  • Flight: When at a minimum mass, Vin can fly through the air weightlessly.[1]
Solar Radiation Absorption: The solar jewel on Vin's brow absorbs ambient solar energy that his body is able to convert directly into usable forms by a process, not unlike photosynthesis in plants.[1]

  • Before the definitive prototype of the sketches, Vin would be Viv's older brother, not twins. [7]
