History
Virginia was the daughter of Mary and Robert Hunter, also known as the villain Nitro. When her father Nitro was given to Project P.E.G.A.S.U.S. by federal authorities for use in the facility's energy experiments, Virginia hired the attorney Emerson Bale to have her father's custody transferred to her.
Once Nitro was released from his containment, he exploded and escaped in her car with his daughter and her lawyer, both unconscious. Nitro brought them to his daughter's apartment, where she attempted to convince her father to let Emerson help him; however, at the mention of help Nitro became enraged, smacking Virginia for trying to help him by having him committed. He then pressured Virginia and Emerson into telling him the location of the superhero Captain Marvel so that he could enact his revenge.
Emerson told Nitro that Captain Marvel returned to Denver, so Nitro left Emerson tied up in Virginia's apartment, dragging her with him on a bank robbery in order to get enough money to travel to Denver in pursuit of Captain Marvel. However, at the bank Nitro encountered and battled Spider-Man. Spider-Man neutralized Nitro by causing his gaseous form to bond with nausea gas, leaving him sickened. The police arrested Nitro, and he was loaded into an ambulance to be taken to Bellevue hospital.[2] Spider-Man apologized to Virginia for hurting her father, but Virginia understood and was just glad that her father was apprehended before hurting anyone else. Virginia then accompanied her father to the hospital.[1]Trivia
- After her father Nitro told her that he was hearing voices from outer space (the Lunatic Legion), Virginia tried to have him committed.[3]
