Vladimir Ulyanov, better known as Vladimir Lenin, was a Russian revolutionary and politician. He served as head of government of the Soviet Union from 1917 to 1924.

Russian Revolution

After the 1917 revolution ousted Tsar Nikolai II and established a provisional government, he returned to Russia to play a leading role in the revolution in which the Bolsheviks overthrew the new regime.[1]

Death

He passed away on the January 21 1924 from a blood disease and was succeeded by Joseph Stalin.

He was laid to rest in Lenin's Mausoleum based in Red Square, Moscow. His preserved body has been on public display there since shortly after his death.[2]
