History
Overview[]
Voyager 1 is a space probe launched by N.A.S.A. in 1977, to study the outer planets of the Solar System. Part of the Voyager program, it was launched 16 days after its twin, Voyager 2.
The astrophysicist Carl Sagan assembled the first physical messages sent into space: the Pioneer plaque and the Voyager 1 Golden Record, universal messages that could potentially be understood by any extraterrestrial intelligence that might find.[1]
