History
After the original X-Men were killed by the Director's Sentinel army,[1] Wolverine made a new team of X-Men. Deadpool was one of the people recruited. Deadpool at first turned him down but after getting in several fights by the side of Wolverine, he realized it might be fun and he eventually changed his mind. He remarked about how Wolverine only wanted him so he could be the "token human" of the team. Wolverine began to question his decision to extend an invitation, but after Deadpool singlehandedly took down several assassins he knew he made the right choice. While training with the team, he started to gain a rapport with the other members. This new team of X-Men was working better than Wolverine could have hoped for. While training, however, Agent Zero was ordered by Weapon X when they reactivated Mesmero's control over him, to kill the X-Men. Deadpool was apparently killed when he melted into a sort of goop after Agent Zero attacked him with a corrosive weapon that worked best against those with a healing factor.[2]
