History

Walter Cronkite was broadcasting live from outside the Hilton Hotel during a demonstration where a bomb exploded in the crowd. Cronkite announced that according to the police the bomb had been thrown by one of the demonstrators and following this the police charged the demonstrators with tear gas and truncheons. Additionally, Cronkite commented that a tragedy like the one in Chicago in 1968 was unfolding.
