Warbird is a flying warrior with an extraterrestrial background. The heroines who have adopted the alias of Warbird have little connection to one another. Carol Danvers first adopted the name when rejoining the Avengers and looked for a fresh start. In Shi'ar military, a Warbird is a lethal royal bodyguard whose life is dedicated for the crown. Ava'Dara Naganandini was a Warbird sent to Earth to protect Prince Kubark at the Jean Grey School, ultimately joining the X-Men. A winged half-human, half-Shi'ar from the Jabari Tribe who is the embodiment of two radically different cultures also wore the title of Warbird, being nicknamed as a child by her mother.
