Warthos are giant warthog-like beasts natives to K'ai, described as part pig and part canine.[3]

History

Modern Age[]

A pack of warthos attacked the city of Empress Jarella, but it was driven away by the Hulk, who was welcomed as a hero by the K'aitians. As it was forbidden for a queen of the realm of K'ai to marry any one who had not proven themselves in battle with the Warthos, Jarella declared the Hulk's timely arrival an omen of the Jade Goddess and that Hulk would become her husband and the sovereign of K'ai.[1]

After Hulk returned to K'ai, intending to reunite with his love, he took control of a pack of Warthos to attack Castle Visis and liberate Jarella from her cousin and enemy Lord Visis.[3]

They've been described as "lupine"[1] "pig-dogs",[1][2]

Warthos have been observed in the vicinity of the City of K'ai.[1][4] The Outlands were said to be Wortha-haunted.[1]

It was forbidden for a queen of the realm of K'ai to marry any one who had not proven themselves in battle with the Warthos.[1]
