Weapon Null was an early rival to the Weapon Plus program that focused on surgically and chemically reconstructing wounded soldiers into living artillery, but fell out of favor due to the expenses required for creation, maintenance and transportation of its living weapons. Whilst the Matron believed this issue could be solved with further time and research, Department K officially shelved Weapon Null for its ineffective cost ratio and moved on to the iterations of Weapon Plus.
Several months after the mutant James Logan massacred the scientists and security teams of the Weapon X project and escaped into the Canadian Rockies, Weapon Null was reactivated and sent into the field with the mission of capturing Weapon X. Whilst the Matron believed that this would prove Weapon Null's superiority and restore them as Department K's primary focus, the truth was that Department K believed them to be expendable, and the hope was that either they would recapture Weapon X, who would resume being the focus of Department K's super-soldier program, or be eliminated, thus ending their drain on Department K's budget.
All known Weapon Null soldiers were slain by Weapon X in their failed attempt to capture him.
