Synopsis for "Part 1 of 3: Don't look back in anger"

A disgruntled Wolverine opens the story overlooking the X-Mansion before making his way towards Xavier's office. Ignoring his other teammates, he enters his mentor's office to begin another session of exploring his psyche for information on his past. The two men enter Wolverine's mind by way of the astral plane after exchanging a game of verbal cat and mouse. Despite Charles' warning, Logan tears through the small, concrete cell his mind has crafted to protect the duo.

Free from their initial confinements, Logan and Charles begin to stroll through the former's memories as pictures of past events float past them. Wolverine is shocked to discover some of the memories appear to be from 'a hundred years ago', but Charles warns that some of the events they can see could possibly have been planted during his currently unknown mental conditioning. Just then, the pair find themselves face to face with Sabretooth in this dreamscape.

Once again ignoring Charles' warnings, Wolvering engages his old foe, recognizing the mutant who's stalked him for many years on his birthday. It isn't until he witnesses his claws phasing straight through his opponent that Logan heeds the Professor's words and ceases combat with the figment of Creed. Sabretooth then leads the pair to the vision of Logan's capture by the agents of Weapon X before dropping them off at the dreamscape's version of that same infamous facility. He leaves the two heroes to enter if they dare, and Logan is shocked to discover the image of his twisted form within a Weapon X stasis tube, mere moments before the Adamantium is applied to his skeleton.
