History
Webster is the pet and companion of Princess Petra, who often travels with her on her shoulder. One day, he went with Petra to the city market to explore and meet the bard Merry James Watson and soon encounter the vile Bishop Octopus, who was searching for the Crystal Orb.[1]
After Petra and Webster returned to the castle, her mother, Queen Mysteria forbid her to go the ball that would've occurred that evening. Petra sang her woes out to Webster and wished she could be like him and "swing away"; just then Petra's Fairy Gob-Mother Norma appeared, and made a deal with Petra to receive the powers of a spider and go to the ball. Once Petra accepted the deal, she gained the ability to understand Webster along with the powers of a spider. Petra went to the ball with Webster, where they witnessed Queen Mysteria, now being called the Mysterious Empress, use the Crystal Orb and attacked the guests. Webster spun an exit sign to help the guests evacuate with the help of Merry James Watson, as Petra defeated both Bishop Octopus and Mysteria, Madame Web came to Earth-423 and recruited Spinstress and Webster for a new adventure.[1]
Webster accompanied Petra and the newest Spider-Army recruits to Earth-616 Beta.[2] However, Petra was soon infected by one of Shathra's wasps.[3] The Hive-converted Petra attempted to devour Webster before Web-Weaver whisked him to his side, promising to look after until they could find a way to free Petra and the other spiders.[4] Webster was seen again with her after Petra was returned to normal.[5]Attributes
Powers
- Spider Physiology: As a spider, Webster naturally has the proportionate strength and abilities of a regular spider. He is also naturally capable of spinning webs and crawling on walls.[1]
