October 22, 1983. Fifty-seven people died that night. It was the bloodiest massacre in Wisconsin state history. Which is fairly impressive, when you consider that Ed Gein lived here. Then again, Gein merely skinned and cooked his victims' corpses. Made a lampshade or two. This beast? It ate its victims while they still screamed. The beast wasn't picky. Adults and children. Men and women. Infants and the infirm... all were slaughtered. Yet it didn't gorge itself, either. It sampled a few choice parts, then quickly moved on to find other prey. There was only one survivor, a three-month-old infant. They boy was hungry and dehydrated, but otherwise untouched--except for a single drop of blood on his forehead. We spent a lot of time wondering about that. Within an hour, the state police initiated a massive manhunt. Of course... it wasn't a man they were looking for.
