Synopsis for "The Great Train Robbery!"
Kid Colt Outlaw #103
Kid Colt rushes a train when a posse of lawmen are chasing after him. He makes it onto the train to Abilene and witnesses the train being robbed by Dakota Dillon and his Gang of Gunners. Colt steps in just as Dakota's man, Red, is about to throw a conductor off the train. Dakota threatens to pull the pin of the train causing it to roll back down the mountain and crash. Kid Colt outdraws all of the criminals and disarms them as well as preventing Dakota from pulling the pin. The train pulls into the station and the conductor lies for Kid Colt to the posse of lawmen stating that he jumped off hours back. The conductor didn't view it as a lie as the sheriff was looking for an outlaw and the conductor no longer believes that Kid Colt fits that description.

Synopsis for "The Search for Don Jose!"
Western Kid #13
The Western Kid rides into town just as Big Ben Keene is about to ride off searching for Don Jose, despite the sheriffs warnings that what he is doing is illegal. Ben ignores these warnings and rides off anyway. When the Kid asks what's going on, the sheriff dismisses that there is anything wrong, leaving Tex suspicious that there is something afoot in town, he sends Lightning to pick up Ben's trail while he checks things out in town. In the local saloon, the Kid overhears the sheriff and his deputy arguing over the situation: Big Ben Keene was partners with Don Jose at the Bee-Bee Ranch. According to Ben, Don stole the ranch's profits and ran for the hills and that the reason the locals are not doing anything about it is due to Big Ben's power base in the town, even the sheriff is at risk losing his badge if he meddles in the situation.
The Western Kid decides to get involved and find Don Jose before Big Ben does and rides off with Whirlwind and Lightning. When he reaches the mountains, the Western Kid is shot at by Big Ben, and pretends to be killed by a bullet, playing possum so Ben lets his guard down. Sneaking up on Keene he finds Don Jose tied up and over hears Ben gloat over how he framed Don Jose and hid him up in the mountain to further prove his "guilt", while he got away with the money he stole from the ranch. Before he can eliminate Don Jose, Lightning distracts Big Ben long enough for the Western Kid to jump him. The two fight it out until the Kid lures him close to the edge of a cliff. Whirlwind ends up kicking the side of the cliff causing it to crash down into a pit below trapping Big Ben with Lightning. When the sheriff and his posse finally arrive, the Western Kid frees Don, Big Ben is forced to confess in order to get Lightning away from him.

Synopsis for "Cry of the Coyote"
Apache Kid #18
The Apache Kid rides past the ancient burial ground of the Sachems when the coyote idol that watches over it begins to howl, recalling the legends that the coyote idol howls when there are intruders on the Sachems land. The Kid goes up to the burial site to investigate and is shocked when the idols seemingly attack him, and call him the invader on the sacred lands. With the coyote no longer howling since he arrives, the Apache Kid manages to slip past the idols spears to investigate the idol closer.
Getting to the idol, the Apache Kid sends his horse Nightwind go to cover while he goes inside the coyote idol. Inside he finds that someone has been digging inside the idol. Suddenly the Apache Kid is attacked from behind by Big Wolf the leader of the Pohantos. The Kid easily evades the attack and Big Wolf gets knocked out. Suddenly, through a communication tunnel the other Pohantos inquire if Big Wolf has defeated the Apache Kid. This distracts the Kid long enough for Big Wolf to recover and try to attack again. During the struggle a torch is knocked to the ground causing a fire and lots of smoke.
The two struggle and the Apache Kid knocks out Big Wolf and drags him outside of the idol. While under the cover of smoke the Apache Kid changes into his alter-ego of Aloysius Kare and keeps Big Wolf at gun point. He tells the confused Big Wolf that both he and the Apache Kid work together. Defeated in combat the Big Wolf and his people agree to leave the Sachems burial ground and never desecrate it again.
