Synopsis for "Western Kid"
While riding past the camp of an elderly prospector, the Western Kid and his animal pals are shot at by the old man, who thinks that the Kid is a claim jumper. He is agitated further when Lightning comes to the defense of his master, as the elderly man hates wolves and dogs, but he is easily subdued. The Kid then asks what the is wrong with the old man and learns how the elderly prospector went looking for gold in Dukesne county and was chased off by wolves, he has had a hatred toward canines ever since.
Suddenly Whirlwind begins to panic, warning them of the arrival of a pack of wolves. The Western Kid grabs the old man and carries him to safety while Lightning stands his ground to fight the leader of the pack. Lightning begins to win, but the old man is convinced that Lightning is just going to take leadership of the pack and cause him more trouble, so he grabs one of Tex's guns and tries to force him to leave. Sending his master in danger, Whirlwind bucks the old man off, and then Lightning disarms him by tossing the defeated wolf pack leader at him. The old man panics, but the defeated wolf scurries away with his pack. Having a change of heart now that Lightning saved them, the old man is even more surprised when Lightning shows him what the fight uncovered: the gold that he so long sought after. The old man is so grateful that he turns to off Tex a share in his gold stake only to see the Western Kid and his pals riding off into the sunset.Appearing in "Bayonets and Spears!"

Synopsis for "Bayonets and Spears!"
Joe Moss and his gang are seeking cowpokes for their current scheme and some of his men spot roving cowboy Aloysius Kare and offer him the job. With work being light, Kare takes the job and is brought to Joe's ranch house. There he learns that they are planning on disguising themselves as Apache to loot the entire town. Moss tells his men not to worry about the Apache Kid as he will handle him, this causes Aloysius Kare to smile.
The attack goes off and the town is looted. Joe Moss then leads his men back to his ranch to change out of their costumes to wait for the military to arrive. Just as the sheriff in town is bringing Captain Bill Gregory to town, Aloysius Kare sends up a smoke signal to warn Red Hawk and his tribe to hide until the plot has been exposed. While Moss is distracted, Kare creates a lot of smoke from the fire to cover him while he changes into his alter-ego the Apache Kid.
The Apache Kid easily trounces Ross in a fight and tells him that he is going to warn the soldiers of his deception. While Ross gathers his men to try and intercept the Apache Kid, the Kid once more uses the smoke cover to change back into Aloysius Kare to join the troop. However along the way, Kare tells Ross that he sees the Apache Kid unconscious on the ground ahead. Sending Ross ahead, Kare changes back into the Apache Kid and overpowers Ross and then carries him up to a cliff above the soldiers and forces Ross to make a confession, ending Ross's plot.
