Synopsis for "What If... Kraven The Hunter Had Killed Spider-Man?"
While patrolling the streets of New York City, Spider-Man's spider sense goes off. He is soon trapped in a net by Kraven. Kraven then shoots Spider-Man several times killing him. Kraven soon takes the 'place' of Spider-Man by wearing his costume. Kraven has several run-ins with other criminal super villains and nearly kills them. It draws the attention of the local media. Mary Jane doesn't believe that this new Spider-Man is actually Peter so she goes to his friend Johnny Storm for help locate Peter. Johnny enlists the assistance of Captain America and Daredevil joins after a run-in. The three heroes all have run-ins with Kraven but fail to capture him. They conclude that Spider-Man has gone insane until Mary Jane confesses that Spider-Man is actually Peter Parker. The three heroes try again to detain Kraven and end up cornering him at the cemetery where Peter was buried. After breaking the news to Mary Jane, she decides to take Peter's secret identity public as a means to honor him. It backfires as Aunt May goes into denial that he was Spider-Man and the media fans the tension between costumed heroes and the public. The last scene shows Mary Jane at Peter's funeral and wondering what would have happened if he was still around.
