Synopsis
In the wake of Ronan the Accuser's successful coup against Thanos, Nova Prime saw potential in Nebula and extended an offer to join the esteemed ranks of the Nova Corps. It was a pivotal time marked by shifting allegiances and the precarious balance of power among cosmic entities.Five tumultuous years passed, and Xandar, seeking to shield itself from the relentless onslaught of Ronan's formidable forces, isolated itself from the rest of the universe. Amidst this isolation, Nebula, loyal to the Nova Corps, stumbled upon the lifeless form of Yondu Udonta. Nova Prime, recognizing Nebula's resourcefulness, tasked her with investigating the cryptic circumstances surrounding Yondu's discovery.
Delving deeper into the enigma, Nebula unraveled a shocking revelation—Yondu had acquired the codes essential for breaching Xandar's impregnable planetary shield. Determined to uncover the truth, Nebula forged an uneasy alliance with Yon-Rogg, a Kree soldier, to infiltrate the Nova Corps mainframe. However, betrayal loomed ominously as Yon-Rogg's true motives came to light. He divulged a nefarious plot orchestrated by Nova Prime herself, aiming to offer Xandar on a silver platter to Ronan. Nebula narrowly escaped a treacherous execution attempt orchestrated by Nova Prime's loyalists, driven by an unyielding commitment to her principles.
Fueled by a sense of justice and armed with an unconventional alliance, Nebula sought unlikely allies in Howard the Duck, a shrewd casino owner, as well as the formidable duo of Groot and Korg. Together, they embarked on a daring mission to thwart Nova Prime's nefarious intentions. Amidst the chaos of their conflict, Nebula unveiled a pivotal truth—she had anticipated Nova Prime's betrayal, subtly altering the codes she assigned, ensuring that the planetary shield would close as the menacing Dark Aster breached Xandar's defenses. The ensuing catastrophic collision obliterated Ronan's ship and brought about his demise.
Nova Prime, desperate to escape accountability, met a tragic fate, plummeting to her demise. As the dust settled, the shield reopened, signifying Nebula's unwavering commitment to safeguarding Xandar against all threats.
